On Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sharks announced that Offensive and Defensive Line Coach Bob Landsee will be the interim head coach for the remainder of the 2016 season.
Landsee began his coaching career as the offensive line coach with the Milwaukee Mustangs in 1999, then coached for the Toronto Phantoms in 2002 and the Indiana Firebirds in 2003.
In 2005, Landsee earned his first head coaching job with the Green Bay Blizzard of the af2. In his two stints (2005-06, 2008-09) he earned a 45-28 record, including a 2006 win for the Blizzard in ArenaCup VII.
Landsee returned to the AFL in 2010 as head coach of the Milwaukee Iron. Landsee led the Iron to the National Conference Championship game, where they lost to the eventual ArenaBowl XXIII champion Spokane Shock.
In his playing days, Landsee earned All-American and All-Big Ten honors as a center for the University of Wisconsin, good enough for the Philadelphia Eagles to select him in the sixth round of the 1986 NFL Draft. He played two seasons for the Eagles before a knee injury ended his career in 1987.
